2024 marks the centenary of the birth of Jin Yong (Dr. Louis Cha), a Chinese writer renowned for his imaginative and fantastical wuxia (martial arts) novels widely beloved by generations of readers. In commemoration, since mid-March this year, the mega event "A Path to Glory – Jin Yong's Centennial Memorial" has been dedicated to organizing a series of public art showcases that encompasses creativity, cultural transmission, education and more. By spreading the timeless virtues championed by Jin Yong's wuxia heroes far and wide, the mega event hopes to evoke the treasured collective memory of Jin Yong's global fans while paying homage to a literary giant who left an indelible impact on the Chinese canon. With the support from the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and the Hong Kong Mega Arts and Cultural Events fund, the event has received great acclaim and support from visiting tourists and various sectors in Hong Kong.
